Leather fiber material, bonded leather, Chimera S

Company Franz Hoffman- Feinleder in cooperation with Company Ledertech, a specialized supplier in Baden Wurttemberg, is presenting a new type of recycled leather for use in leather goods, book binding, and stationary. The new product is called Chimera S.

Chimera S fulfils the requirements of a modern, economical book binding material. In addition it is surprisingly similar to real leather. This material can be embossed in different styles: calf- neck-ring embossing, Cabretta- fine hair cell embossing, Kid- very fine hair cell embossing, flat cattle embossing, Toro- medium fine cattle grain as well as shrunk cattle grain.

In addition, we offer coloured Chimera S in red, green, black, and brown.

Chimera S is a unique, high quality, exceptionally soft, recycled leather manufactured for elegant bookbinding and use in the paper industry. It has a warm and pleasant touch.

Chimera S has a remarkable likeness to genuine leather. The difference between Chimera S and that of cow, calf, sheep, lamb, and goat leather are only discernable to an expert.

The main features of this new product are the high tear strength and elongation properties, as well as high light-fastness (high tolerance for light exposure), abrasion, and aging-stability.

Chimera S includes less than 1 ppm of pentachlorophenol, and corresponds to the pentachlorophenol regulation. It does not include any forbidden AZO colouring agents and no hazardous substances as regulated by German law. The production process is certified as per ISO 9001-2000 certificate.

Particularly outstanding features of Chimera S are its very good UV- and light resistance, its excellent aging stability, its ability to withstand washing, and its exceptional embossing and lamination properties.

We produce thicknesses as low as 0.6 mm, thus rendering splitting or skiving unnecessary.
